Contemporary Māori Art – Swimming with the Cosmos.
A collaboration with Ali Davies and Cheri Waititi (Ngāti Porou, Te Whānau-ā-Apanui) on a series to celebrate Matariki, the Māori New Year which takes place over June & July.
The movement from teal to deep purple in this print represents the transformation from the lesser self into a more spiritually aware greater self. Purple has the stability of blue and the passionate energy of red and is often associated with luxury, power, royalty, dignity and creativity. It is a mysterious colour and has the personality of pride and independence.
The upward direction of the gold motif is representative of the moment your true self is revealed and you feel connected to the expansive macrocosm of the universe.
This interior mock-up gives an example of scale. Would look equally lovely in a white frame. These pieces are impactful and suit a business or office environment or spacious interior.
