Te Mangōroa VII

Contemporary Māori Art – Swimming with the Cosmos.

A collaboration with Ali Davies and Cheri Waititi (Ngāti Porou, Te Whānau-ā-Apanui) on a series to celebrate Matariki, the Māori New Year which takes place over June & July.

The landscape orientation of this motif gives a sense of travelling through space; deep dark blues to a closer lighter blue is both soothing and unsettling. Where am I going? Am I heading in the right direction? What does the universe have in store for me? Questions are worth reflecting on at any stage but especially seem potent at the time of the New Year. Always searching, forever longing, interrupted with moments of deep clarity and wisdom.

This interior mock up gives an example of scale. Would look equally lovely in a white frame. These pieces are impactful and suit a business or office environment or spacious interior.
